How Can severe Joint Pain In The Hands And Legs Be Treated?

Our son is 23 - he began having various pains in his joints, leg, hands etc that would come and go. We would like to get him to a type of doctor who might diagnose him but have no idea what that specialty would be. He is generally fit - not over weight, about 6 tall.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for the query at HealthcareMagic

Pain and swelling in multiple joints that comes and goes, especially in a young person raises the concern for inflammatory arthritis like Rheumatoid arthritis.
Such conditions are dealt with by rheumatologist.
You can follow up with a primary care provider who can refer to a rheumatologist.

Hope this answers your question
